To celebrate FC Zenit Saint Petersburg’s fifth Russian Premier League title and 1st star, we saluted the new Tzars of Russian Football by doing a team photo a la Nicholas II with players and Andre Villas-Boas fully decked out in traditional Russian military and aristocracy attire. The work was shot in St Petersburg by renowned photographer Tim Bret Day, days before the last game of the season in the Blue Room of the Yusupov Palace. Sky Sports News says it’s the best team photo ever, Eurosport.com states it’s the team photo of the century and FootballFacts101declared it was the best team photo ever in the history of sports. I certainly hope that this tactical celebration ad will reinvent the usual “couple of benches lined up on the pitch” team photo. Check it out! #ReignSupreme.
Arsenal fans did a pretty good photoshop job. Love Titi’s painting.
